Google Workspace for Education is a set of education productivity tools from Google including Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Classroom, and more used by tens of millions of students and teachers around the world. At Sequoia Union High School District, students will use their Google Workspace for Education accounts to complete assignments, communicate with their teachers, and learn 21st-century digital citizenship skills. In addition, it allows the district to provide access to other online resources such as the online learning management system Canvas.
In addition to the Google Workspace for Education core tools, there are other services provided by Google that require parental permission. These go beyond the core services provided by Google Workspace for Education and are not covered by the data-sharing agreement Sequoia Union High School District (SUHSD) has with Google.
The additional Google services used in SUHSD are listed in the chart below along with links to each of their Terms of Service and Help Page. Not all services will be used by every student. Each service has been carefully reviewed to ensure alignment with the SUHSD instructional objectives. In addition, SUHSD has conducted the same review of these services as we do for all products that use student information.
Additional tools may be added to this list but the opt out will apply to all tools in this list. Additionally, SUHSD may use digital tools that do not collect, use/or share any personal information. This permission can be updated at any time in the Online Informariton Update, or contacting your child’s school.
