Step 1: Attend an Information Meeting
Come to one of our information meetings to find out more:

Step 2: Complete the Middle College Application
The Middle College Application for Fall 2026 opens on Monday, November 3rd!
Students and their parents or guardians are encouraged to complete the application together.
Step 3: Complete the Cañada College Application online
All students must complete the college application. Submitting the application will generate your College ID (G-number), which you’ll need for everything at the college. Once your college application and class registration are complete, you’ll also receive a college email address—this is how the college will communicate with you.
When filling out the application, be sure to select “Fall” as the term you’re applying for.
Step 4: Submit a writing sample

We’d love to get to know you better! All applicants must submit a 1–2 page, double-spaced writing sample. This helps us learn about who you are as a student and see your writing skills in action.

Step 5: Recommendation Letters
MC requires 3 letters of recommendation:1 School Counselor Recommendation and 2 Teacher Recommendations. The teacher recommendations should preferably be from your CURRENT math and English teachers.
Please send these forms to your counselor and teachers so they can complete your recommendations:
Applicants not currently enrolled in a SUHSD school must also provide the most recent copy of their high school transcript and attendance report. Please email these documents to canadamiddlecollege@smccd.edu
