Previously, Relay had been used with custom schedules teachers set up for their classes. However, a major issue with this format is that when teachers block classes for students for certain times of the day, this block carries over even when students are not in that class. For example, if a teacher blocks a student from using Wikipedia during period 3, but on a minimum day or any other alternate schedule day, the teacher forgets to remove this block. The student cannot access Wikipedia even if they are not in that class.

To remedy this, the district has decided that all schedules must be set “ad hoc.” Teachers will have to start a new session daily for each class. While this is an added step, the process is fairly simple, and it eliminates the issue of blocked access during non-course times.

To access the “ad hoc” time feature, go to Class Settings and choose the session duration from the drop down menu. Then, start the session
