Public Records Requests
Sequoia Union High School District (SUHSD) respects the right that members of the public have to inspect and obtain copies of public records in accordance with the California Public Records Act (Government Code § 7920.000 et seq.), which requires that publicly available, non-exempt governmental records shall be disclosed to the public, upon request, unless there is a specific reason not to do so. Documents that invade an individual's right to privacy (e.g., privacy in certain personnel, medical, or student records) or hinder the government's need to perform its assigned functions in a reasonably efficient manner (e.g., maintaining confidentiality of investigative records, official information, records related to pending litigation, and preliminary notes or memoranda) may be permissible exemptions from disclosure.
How to Submit a Request
Requests may be submitted via email to communications@seq.org. To help us locate the records you are seeking, please include:
- A clear description of the records requested, including relevant dates, departments, subject matter, or document types
- Your name and preferred contact information (note: you are not required to identify yourself or state a purpose for your request, but contact information allows us to reach you with questions and provide the records)
What to Expect
Within 10 calendar days of receiving your request, we will notify you whether the records you requested exist and the expected timeframe to produce them. The time needed to produce records depends on the volume and complexity of the request and the need to review records for information that is exempt from disclosure.
For high school TRANSCRIPTS or DIPLOMAS, please contact the school you graduated from.
