The 2010 Academies Career Faire

Thank you for your interest in participating in the East Side Union High School District and Sequoia Union High School District Computer Academies Career Fair 2010! This year's career fair will be held at Cisco in San Jose, CA on April 30, 2010. Cisco is proud to announce that Guillermo Diaz, Vice President, Cisco IT, will be the keynote speaker at this event!

    • East Side Union High School District (Independence High School, W.C. Overfelt High School Computer Academies)
    • Sequoia Union High School District Academies (Sequoia High School, Menlo Atherton High School, Carlmont High School, and Woodside Computer Academies)
  • One hundred and fifty Industry Volunteers
  • Academy Alumni
  • Teachers
  • Industry and Academic guests

Career Faire Objectives

The purpose of the Career Fair event is to introduce students from the East Side Union High School District and Sequoia Union High School District Computer Academies to:

  • Meet with professionals in technology and get a better understanding of the jobs available in the different functional areas of a technology company.
  • Exposure to new and changing technology with technology exhibit tours and sessions about technology
  • Ability to practice their interviewing skills and resume writing skills to prepare them for summer jobs and high school internship programs
  • Opportunity to talk to community and four year colleges about educational paths and programs available at schools

Notes

Mentors and Academy Alumni are encouraged to attend the Fair with their student and are invited to provide their expertise at the career information booths, at the professional skills workshop, or during mock interviews.

Please register to participate in either the College/Career Information Booths or to conduct mock interviews. You will be provided with a detailed information packet once your registration is received.
