  • Mr. Nigara - Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde: Victorian Crime Websites

A Note on Evaluating Sources: The web, though a fantastic research tool, has created a world of problems regarding the authenticity of information. Make sure your sources are credible. During the course of your research, look closely at the following:

Author’s Credentials: Experience in the field; degrees; reputation.

Relevance: When was it published? Does it relate specifically to my argument?

Valid Data Sources: Is the author scrupulously citing her sources? Are those sources valid? When was it published? Is there a date of publication? Are the authors writing and posting information transparently? Essentially, the best sources are ones that a host of experts—publishers, scholars, teachers and professors, journalists—have closely investigated and vetted.

Scholarly Journals and University Presses: These are great resources because source citation and attribution are vital for having credibility in academia.
