Ongoing:
- DON'T MISS IT!!  Only one day left to purchase tickets to tomorrow's  (Wed., 2/11) "A Taste of the Fish Market", a delicious Fish Feed and Buffet Dinner, sponsored by the Sequoia Boosters and The Fish Market Restaurant. It all takes place @ 6pm in Sequoia's MPR.   There is sure to be something for everyone, including, BBQ, Pasta and Seafood.  Tickets will not be sold at the door. COLLEGE & CAREER CENTER NEWS from Ms. Ignaitis:
New:
- Bank of America has a summer paid internship in Washington DC.  The due date is soon February 20, 2009.  Please go directly to the website at http://www.bankofamerica.com/foundation/index.cfm?template=fd_studentleaders 

Ongoing:
- There is a scholarship opportunity for 13-19 yr. old Jewish students who have done a lot of community service.  Please go to www.sfjcf.org/diller/teenawards   The application is due 2/17/09.

- There will be a community college event on the evening of Thursday, 2/19 from 7-9pm in the MPR.  Local community colleges will give an overview of their specialized programs as well as the process of admissions for graduating seniors.  There will also be a general financial aid presentation.  Students and parents will also be able to
directly speak to the college representatives after the whole group presentations.

- There are a lot of summer programs available for high school students. The college/career center has a box full of opportunities.  Please send your students by.  There is also a great resource you can access online.  Enrichment Alley is a quick and easy way to search for programs.  Its website is http://www.enrichmentalley.com/

Those that use drugs and alcohol are at risk of developing substance abuse and addiction plus other substance related illnesses.  Don't become another statistic.  The Youth Advisory Board will be offering a Day of Silence tomorrow (Wednesday, 2/11) to raise awareness about drugs and alcohol use among teens.  Please do not talk to these students.        M.
