*  SENIOR FAMILIES:   Grad week is coming quickly and we need your
help!   SENIOR BBQ / SWIM PARTY is June 4th.  We will be BBQing
hamburgers and hotdogs for about 350 kids and need food/drink donations:

Cookies/brownies/Rice Krispy treats; bottled waters, canned soda, fruit
trays, bags of chips.  If you can donate a food/drink item or are
available to help out on June 4th between 10:30 ? 3:00, please email:

the year for our seniors!

*  SENIOR BRUNCH is June 5th.  Please help with bottled water, cut-up

Juliet is a fabulous Math student.  She is on time, every day with her
Algebra homework ready to go.  She takes great notes, asks outstanding
questions and helps other students without being asked.  Every teacher
should be so lucky as to have a student like Juliet in their class.

NEED HELP IN ENGLISH? The English tutorial is held every Wednesday from
3:15-5:15 in room 22 with access to computers!  Get help from an English
teacher with reading, writing, homework, and studying - keep those
grades up...finals are coming!  Hope to see you Wednesday in room 22.

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN BECOMING A REPORTER?  Want to get the 411 on
events happening at school?  Please come to a meeting for the school
paper this Wednesday, 5/2,1 in room 123 at lunch. We will brainstorm
ideas and discuss what direction we can take the school paper next year.

A REMINDER THAT IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO AUDITION TO SING THE STAR SPANGLED
BANNER AT GRADUATION, please come by student activities at lunch
TOMORROW - Tuesday, May 20th....you must be a senior and you will sing
the whole song a cappella for Ms. Reibstein, ASB President Aly Colling
and Senior class president Berta Garcia.  See Ms. Reibstein if you have

ATTENTION ALL SEQUOIA YOUTH - The Teen Resource Center is recruiting
leaders for next year. Did you hear about all the fun the mentoring
program, Students Helping Students, had this year? If you're going into
your junior or senior year and want to make a big difference to an
incoming 9th grader, please come to an informational meeting at the
start of lunch this Wednesday, May 21st in the TRC. Anyone can also pick
up an application to mentor students at Kennedy Middle School, or for
the San Mateo Youth Commission!  See Amy Blum or Maria Mosqueda right
away to take action in your community!       A. Blum

YEARBOOKS WILL BE HERE IN TWO WEEKS!  Keep your eye out for information
about the Sequoia Yearbook Distribution Extravaganza!  You still have
time to reserve your book.  Prices will go up again soon.  The current
price is $80.  See Mrs. Gordon in the treasurer's office ASAP.      E.

HAVEN’T YOU ALWAYS WANTED A BLANKET TO SHOW YOUR SCHOOL PRIDE?  Do
you need a beach blanket or something to keep you warm at the football
games next year?  What about a grad gift?  Sequoia HS Leadership
students are selling super soft purple, white and black spirit wraps for
just $35 a piece.  The blankets are 48 by 70", machine washable and
sport our school seal and our promise of Unaliyi.  Come by the
Activities Center or ask a Leadership student for more information.  See

BEAUTIFUL ORCHID LEIS fresh from Maui for your favorite grad!  The
Sequoia Junior Class is selling orchid leis for your graduate to wear
during the graduation ceremony--purple for girls and white for boys. 
The leis will be distributed after the Senior Brunch on June 5th, 2008. 
You can pick up an order form at the Treasurer's office.   Please place
your order no later than May 27th, 2008!   The leis are $15.00 each.
