CALIFORNIA STATE PTA: FLUNK THE BUDGET, NOT OUR KIDS INITIATIVE  
>From Pam Brady, State PTA President.  The Bottom Line: "As much as $4
billion in cuts to education remain in our state's most recent proposal,
as well as severe cuts to children's health and other support services. 
Since January, California State PTA and parents throughout the state
have voiced strong opposition to the damaging cuts to education and
children's services proposed in the state budget.  We must continue to
raise our voices now more than ever in opposition to these proposed
cuts.  We must stay the course through the summer and continue to work
together to protect our children and the future of California."  For

Would you like a treasured memento of M-A's fabulous spring musical
while supporting Drama Boosters?  If so, then please send a check for

Callie Lane, Menlo Park, CA 94025.  Be sure to include your return
address.  Disclaimer:  The DVD is a home movie, neither edited nor
cut...just a labor of love from a parent in the audience.  All actors
were filmed to the best of her ability, which was based on her distance
from the stage and the lighting.

*Athletics*

CHEERLEADING
The Cheerleading team is have summer tryouts for incoming freshman and
anyone else who would like to Cheer for M-A!  They will be held August
11-13 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in the Dance Studio.  Please contact

GIRLS JV LACROSSE SEASON RESULTS
The Girls JV lacrosse team has just completed an amazing season, with a
first place finish in the PAL league.  The team had an overall record of
17 wins and 1 loss and a perfect league record of 11-0.  In addition it
took first place in the Sling-It tournament with 14 teams participating.
 The 15 team members had an overall GPA of 3.55.  Congratulations to the
JV girls lacrosse team and Coach Erin Massey for an outstanding season.

TENNIS
Girl's Tennis Team Tryouts.  There will be a mandatory meeting on
Monday, June 2 at 2:30 p.m., for any girls planning on trying our for
the Girl's Tennis Team in the Fall.  The meeting will be held at the
Tennis Courts.
