TECHNOLOGY CHALLENGE EXAM
The Technology Challenge Exam will be administered for the Spring semester on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at 1:45 p.m. Prior sign ups are required by January 18, 2008. Students can come to the Guidance Office to sign up. To get info on the tech exam, you can go to the district's website at www.seq.org and click on "For Students and Parents", scroll down to Technology Graduation Requirements, and then click on Preparing for the Test.
TO PARENTS OF SENIORS â RSVP DUE FOR FINANCIAL AID NIGHT
Please let me know if you and your students plan to attend our Financial Aid Night on January 10. (Parents of younger students: this event is for seniors and their parents only, but you can expect a Financial Aid Night of your own when your student is a senior!)
Just to remind you, the event will take place on Thursday, January 10, at 7:30 p.m. in the library. A financial aid expert will give a very brief overview of financial aid and then will walk us line by line through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the form that all students (no matter whether they plan to go to community college, four-year college, or vocational school) must file if they hope to receive financial aid and if they plan to apply for student loans.
I must know exact numbers so I can make the correct number of copies and order the correct number of chairs set up in the library. I will provide a FAFSA-on-the-Web Worksheet for each family that lets me know it plans to attend; notes taken on this worksheet will help you file the form online after the workshop. The FAFSA must be filed AFTER January 1 and BEFORE March 2; some private colleges have earlier deadlines than March 2, but no FAFSA should be filed before January 1.
Many thanks for letting me know in advance how many from your family will attend. Ideally, both senior and parents will attend; if this is not possible, either the student or parents should plan to attend. You can let me know you're coming by responding to this e-mail or by leaving a message at (650) 322-5311 x 5141. Thanks. Alice Kleeman (e-mail at akleeman at seq.org).
*Athletics*
SPRING SPORTS PACKAGE
Spring Sports packets are due. Many packets issued before winter break did NOT include the athletic physical form. Please be sure to go to the office where you picked your packet up at to obtain the sports physical form. The packet is not complete until the physical form is done. If you competed in a Fall sport or are competing in a Winter sport then your physical form is done and you do NOT have to complete the physical form but you MUST complete all the others.
FORE!
All golfers interested in the M-A boys golf teams should attend an informational meeting on Friday, January 11 at noon in Room E20 with Coach Buff Giurlani. M-A fields both a Varsity (scoring) and a JV (practice) squad. Last year's Varsity squad won the PAL league championship and another exciting season lies ahead!
GIRLS LACROSSE
Please report Wednesday & Thursday to the Lacrosse field closet by the grass soccer field at 3:30 for spring conditioning. Please wear exercise attire and running shoes. Coach Raena and the Three Captains will be leading conditioning this week and next. No sticks or balls are allowed until the last Monday in January.
