STUDENT MENTAL HEALTH AT MENLO-ATHERTON, PARENT EDUCATION SERIES
Don't miss the next Parent Education Series event: Your Teen's Mental Health. Wednesday, February 20, 7:00-8:30 p.m., M-A Library.  Executive
and Onsite Directors of Adolescent Counseling Services (ACS) will present information on teen mental health issues at M-A. This important
evening is for all parents who are concerned about stress, depression, eating disorders, cutting, peer/family issues, etc. For more
information, please contact Charlene Margot, charlenemargot at yahoo.com, Parent Education Series Co-Chair. Refreshments and simultaneous Spanish
translation will be provided.

JUNIOR PARENT INFORMATION NIGHT
Attention Parents of Juniors:  Mark your calendars now for PTA Junior Parents' Information Night, which will happen on Monday, April 21, 2008,
7:00 pm - 8:00 pm, at the M-A Library.  The program features an information packed 60 minutes regarding senior year at M-A and overview
of the year to come.  Guidance counselor Karen Ramirez will review school and district completion requirements, have Q and A, and provide
informative handouts. Understanding and anticipating the calendar of events will ease the stress of senior year and help keep your senior
student on track. (This is NOT a planning for college application forum, as Alice Kleeman is the acknowledged expert in this complicated area.)
The meeting also highlights PTA-sponsored events such as the Fashion Show and Grad Night celebration.  Coordinators: Kristin Gananian,

CAHSEE TESTS
The California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) will be given on Tuesday, March 11 and  Wednesday, March 12 to all sophomores.  There will be no
changes to the regular daily school schedule for this exam.   Sophomores will be assigned a room where they will report by 7:50 a.m.
on both days.  Notification of room assignments will be distributed to students the week prior to testing.

AP PRACTICE EXAMS
AP English Practice exams will be held at M-A on Saturday, March 8 for Seniors and Saturday, March 29 for Juniors.

*Athletics*

BASKETBALL
In the second round of the PAL tournament, the boys'varsity basketball team won a thriller 70-57 with a great offensive team effort.  Sam Knapp had a triple double with 16 points, 10 assists and 20 rebounds. Brendan McGrath chipped in 15 points, Peter DeFilipps added another 12 and Richard Branning also had 12 points.  In the championship final, the boys fell to Burlingame 48-37.  Nicky Fogel had 10 points.
