FINAL SLEEP EDUCATION LESSON NEXT TUESDAY
Tuesday, April 8 marks the final sleep education mini-lesson of the year for the student body. The past two weeks, students learned about sleep and performance and drowsy driving; the final lesson next week will highlight the identification and risks of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Following the lesson, students will have an opportunity to learn more about OSA at the Health Faire being held during the lunch period. Take a look at the handouts your student got or go to the Teen Sleep Program link on the M-A website (www.mabears.org) to see the content of the three mini-lessons. Thank you to the 14 Sleep Ambassadors who were busy distributing the lessons to the 70 classrooms and picking up written reflections done by the students. Thanks also to all the 4th period teachers who conducted the lessons. For information about the M-A Teen Sleep Program, please contact Eileen Van Rheenen at eileen at vanr.org or Kay Oâ Neill at kayoneill at mindspring.com.

ADDITIONAL MIDDLE COLLEGE INFORMATION NIGHT
Middle College has added an additional information meeting on Thursday, April 10th from 7-8PM at the SUHSD board room. We have also added a couple of testing dates and extended the application deadline.
*Athletics*
BASEBALL TEAM STILL GOING STRONG. The varsity baseball team defeated Capuchino Wednesday 9-1. Matt Mosher pitched six strong innings, striking out 8 and giving up no runs. Mosher also had another great day at the plate, going 3 for 3 with two home runs. Michael Masket, Jeff Keller and Lee Bader also homered.
LACROSSE
MA Varsity Boysâ Lacrosse Defeats Serra Padres 11 â 4. The Boysâ Varsity lacrosse team remains undefeated. On Monday, the Bears took on the Serra Padres. Though the game looked evenly matched at half time, the Bears blasted ahead in the 3rd and 4th quarters. Charlie Fitz had 3 goals, Jeff Sklarin had 2 goals, and David McLaughlin had 2 goals and 5 assists! It was a great day for our Kevins, too: Kevin Flaherty (2 goals), Kevin Sheridan and Kevin Burks all found the back of the net. Matt Boyle had 2 assists and goalie Scott Sterling and all our defenders showed bear grit. Final score: 11 â 4.
JV Lacrosse Improves to 2-1. The JV team defeated Serra on Monday 7-4. Tommy Cummings and Jack Kinne each had two goals and Zander Rohn, Ryan Johnston and Adam Sklarin each had one. Sam Bartlit, Rob Davis and Jordan Voskuil led the team on defense and goalies Sam Weber and James Buttram both had solid saves in important situations.
TENNIS
The M-A Boy's Tennis Team hosted No. 1 ranked Menlo. The Bears played as well as they have all season against a fully stocked Menlo team and were in every match. However, the experienced Knights prevailed 6-1. The lone M-A win came by way of the No. 3 doubles where the team of Viliami Talakai, better known for his play as a linebacker on the football team and Matt Aguilar, better known as the center on the Bear's Basketball team took their match, 7-6, 6-4. The Bears next take on San Mateo on Thursday at M-A.
M-A NETTERS KNOCK OFF SAN MATEO. On a blustery day at the Child-Aguilar Tennis Facility, the Bears took on the always tough and mysterious San Mateo Tennis Team. Their reputation for mystery comes from the fact that opposing teams never know how they will stack their lineup or what tactics they will employ to throw their opponents off. The Bear coaching staff reminded the Bear team to just play their game and they would come out on top. Come out on top they did as the Bears rolled to a gratifying 7-0 thrashing of the Bearcats. Top performers for the day included seniors Carson Weiss, Matt Boles Aguilar, Roland Smith, junior Lupe Talakai and super soph Alden Mitchell, all of whom only lost a total of 7 games between them.
Go Bears. Grrrr.
