Fashion Show
Parents: Remind your seniors to come to this week's fashion show orientation! We know that your seniors don't like to listen to the morning announcements, so they need your help. This Tuesday and Wednesday are the mandatory sign up/orientation meetings for the fashion show. All seniors that want to be in the show must attend one of the meetings-- to be held at 7 PM in the new gym. Students will sign up for exact rehearsal times, so they should come knowing their availability or prior commitments. It would also help if they bring a pen!
Challenge Day
Attention All Freshman Parents! Attention All M-A Parents! Thanks so much for the 70+ parents who have already volunteered for Challenge Day!! You are all way too kind. AND, we still need about 40 more small group leaders for Challenge Days. A small group leader has 5-6 students in their group and stays with them the entire day, 7:15a.m. - 3:00p.m. The small group leader helps facilitate their kids through small group discussions and communication exercises led by the professional Challenge Day staff who come to our school. Half the freshmen will go through the program Monday, Oct. 29 and the other half will to through Tuesday, Oct. 30. We need small group leaders both days. This is a great way for freshman parents to get involved! In response to past input, small group leaders will have an optional one hour training/Q & A session on the Sat. before (Oct. 27 - time and room to be announced). Also, a few registration helpers are still needed both days, 6:45a.m. - 8:15 a.m.. Don't pass up the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our M-A teens! Sign up for your position and choice of day with Betsy at: betbowe at earthlink.net. Thank you from the Challenge Day Coordinators: Betsy Bowersox (Hannah 2010) and Teri O'Neel (Danny 2011).

*Clubs*
Nice job turning in forms on time for the Club Training Day. NOW we need the green permission slips to miss class on Friday, Club Rush day. It will be an incredibly productive day and we are excited to have you join us. Permission slips are due on Wed!
Many thanks to the group of twenty who participated on Saturday for Habitat for Humanity, led by M-A student Eric Siegel, who organized students to paint, install wallboard, fix cabinets, and much more for Peninsula Habitat in So. San Francisco. We are especially grateful to our parent chaperones, Mark Siegel, Don Harrier, Josef Decker, and both Banta parents. Four families are closer to their goal of owning their own home because of the volunteers.

Is your student facing the PSAT or doing a late SAT? M-A's Own SAT Prep. opens Monday, September 17, and runs on Mondays and Tuesdays, on campus, for five weeks, ending the week the PSAT is given. If enrollment reaches a minimum of 20 students per class, there will be two sessions, 3:30-5 and 5:10-6:40, to accommodate the student athletes. 20 enrolled per class means the fee is our basic $100.00. For fewer students, the fee gradually rises to a maximum of $225, which works out to $15. per tutoring hour. For information call Jane King at 323-4066 or email her at jccking at juno.com.
