*Announcements*
FINAL CALL â SENIOR PORTRAITS â MONDAY, OCTOBER 8 ON CAMPUS
If you missed the deadline for your senior portraits, you have one last chance. Prestige Portraits will be on campus on Monday, October 8 to take yearbook portraits only. The sitting fee is $15. You MUST sign up for an appointment this week in room G-7. This is your absolute last chance -- seniors who do not get photographed on Monday will not be in the yearbook.
PSAT SIGN-UPS
The deadline for PSAT sign-ups is Wed, Oct 10. Students can sign up with their English teacher. The PSAT test will be administered here at M-A on Saturday, October 20 from 7:45 to 10:45 a.m. To register, you must bring a check for $25 to your English teacher by next Wednesday, October 10. Make checks payable to M-A PSAT. All college-bound juniors should take the PSAT to be eligible for the National Merit Scholarship program. See Ms. Strub in C-15 if you have questions about the PSAT.
CHILL IT UP LUNCH
Chillinâ it up at lunch has come to M-A. Chill It Up will be on Friday October 5th, at B-20. Free food, music, and chillin. Come by B-20 this Friday.
HOMECOMING
Jungle Allure. That's right, Homecoming is right around the corner. Homecoming tickets for this year's Jungle Allure Homecoming Dance from 8 pm to midnight at Bay Meadows are on sale NOW on the green at lunch Monday through Friday, and Fridays after school. PAL prices are only available THIS WEEK for $25 for a single. Get your jungle groove on and buy your ticket NOW before prices go up next week.

Join the M-A surf club, meeting to day at lunch in room E 22. The club is open to all students who like to surf or want to learn how.

The Gay Straight Alliance club meetings have been moved to Fridays. Come one, come all to C13 THIS FRIDAY for FREE PIZZA with the GSA! See you this and every Friday for lunch in C13!
UFC
M-A Frisbee nation! The UFC meets this THURSDAY at lunch in room D-23. All are welcome! And remember... It's not a new club. It's a revolution.
RUNNING FOR A REASON
If you are interested in making a difference in the quality of life for people in your community, then you are ready to check out Running for a Reason. Running for a Reason is already a well established local organization, and we are starting a branch of it here at M-A! Our main goal is to raise money in order to provide care for patients with terminal diseases, in return for your help with fundraising we have a running team that meets weekly with professional coaches including the Stanford Track coaches. The club organizes professional training for athletes of all levels and is great for cross-training. Don't feel like running? That's okay, you can still come by our first meeting THIS THURSDAY at lunch in B-20 where you can find out more information about the club and get the details of our first "meet" of the year at the Stanford Track on Sunday. See you on in B-20 on Thursday for Running for a Reason!"

Students, Thursday, October 4th is the last day to drop a class without it appearing on your transcript. Please see your Guidance Advisor immediately if you need to do this.

Come to the Career Center for dates, times, and passes to attend.

Girls Waterpolo
Congratulations to the Polo Bears for an oh-so-SWEET victory over Castilleja. The Bears overcame an early 2-goal deficit to tie the game by halftime, and NEVER looked back. Led by coaches Chris Rubin and Lara Gill, the team showed their stuff as Morgan Leech, Becca Dorst, and Lauren Knox stuffed the goals, for a final score of 6-4. This team, who recently made M-A history by defeating Menlo, faces Aragon next Wednesday. M-A U-KNOW!
Boys Waterpolo
The Bears quelled Soquel 15-7 in their match yesterday. Matt Bogott and Kevin Lane each scored 4, with more points added by Simon Hood, Richard Hong, Scott Swartz, Paul Jacob, and Matt Garlock. GRRRReat Teamwork!
Girlâ s Tennis
M-A NETTERS BOUNCE BURLINGAME
The M-A Girl's Tennis Team upped their record to 7-1 with a 7-0 thrashing of the Panthers at Burlingame. Newcomers Matilda Ekman from Sweden and freshman Julia Sommer got their first taste of Varsity play and both came away with wins in the doubles. The Bears next take on Aragon at M-A on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
Girlâ s Basketball Tryout Meeting
There will be a meeting for all girls who are interested in trying out for the girlâ s frosh/soph and varsity basketball teams TODAY at 11:30am in E-20.
Football
Attention football players: you are of no good to your team if you become ineligible. Check the trainerâ s room door to find out if you are expected to do a progress report this week. Progress reports are due TODAY before practice.
The football games this week are AT TERRA NOVA. Friday Night Lights right here in the peninsula. Bundle up and travel to cheer on the Bears as they battle for a league title. Frosh-soph is at 5pm followed by the varsity team at 8pm.
