PACKETS

The last day to turn in athletic packets for the winter sport season is tomorrow.

FALL AWARDS

The M-A Boosters will present the 2007 Fall Athletic Awards Night on Thursday November 15 at 6:45pm in Ayers Gymnasium. All fall athletes and their families are invited to attend to honor all athletes and coaches. We will begin in Ayers Gym with an exciting slideshow highlighting each team's season. The teams will then meet with their coaches for awards and individual recognition.

FOOTBALL

Last Saturday, the varsity football team beat Woodside High School 48 â 7 to finish on top of the PAL for the first time since 1992. Congratulations to the team for a great league season! The running backs were busy and we had touchdowns from Bobby Bustos, Jamal Wilkins, Rod Nash
and two from Will Latu. Troy McCabe also threw two touchdowns to Steve DiSibio. The defense was once again completely stifling. Come support your Bears with their first CCS playoff game at Menlo-Atherton next this Saturday at 1:00 against Homestead and let our players enjoy their home field advantage!

WATER POLO

Congratulations to both the boys and girls polo bears who were victorious in their first CCS tournament matches, and advance to the semi-final round this week. Simon Hood, Matt Bogott, Kevin Lane, and goalkeeper Alex Popp were instrumental in the victory against Los Altos, with an 11-10 nail biting win as the buzzer sounded. The Bear fans' wave turned into a tsunami! All the ardent fans are now taking throat lozenges in preparation for the match Tuesday at 5:30pm against #1 seed Salinas. In the girlsâ tournament, the Bears easily maneuvered past Woodside with an 11-1 win. Rebecca Dorst was in top form with 5 goals, while Anna Geiduschek, known for her feisty defense, scored 3. Vanessa Lane, Lauren Knox, and Morgan Leech each added 1. The girls will be put to the test in a rematch against Mitty on Wednesday at 5:30pm, expected to be the best game in the CCS tournament. Both semi-final matches will be at Bellarmine, and all Bears are encouraged to come and cheer for these a-M-A-zing teams!
