ESL1 TUTORS NEEDED

We need a few additional tutors each Thursday from noon to 1:40 for our ESL=
1 class, taught by Marei Kane. Tutors work with a pair of students to give =
them additional attention on assignments and to practice conversation. Cont=

CAN YOU SPARE A MILE OR TWO?

Can you spare frequent flyer miles on United Airlines for the victorious Qu=
iz Kids? They earned a spot in the National Quiz Bowl tournament in Chicago=
 and need help, as the total cost will be $3000 if they cannot get frequent=
 flyer miles. We also are accepting cash donations to help cover the tourna=
ment entry fee, hotel room, and plane tickets. If you can help please conta=

JOBS CORPS INFO NIGHT

Sequoia High School is hosting a Job Corps information night on Wednesday, =
March 28 at 6pm in their multi.  Applicants must be 16-24 years old, low in=
come, US citizen or legal resident, and high school graduates. Parents must=
 accompany students under 18 years of age to the meeting.

SAT DEADLINE IS IMMINENT

Junior parents: the deadline to register for the May 5 SAT is this Thursday=
, March 29.  Registration materials are available online and in the Career =
Center. =



HOPELESSLY DEVOTED TO YOU

Dress up in your favorite 50s costume and enjoy the fast pace and pulsating=
 tunes of the musical Grease with stars Myles Rowland and Amanda Tachis.  T=
his all-student production, directed by Jenni Brandon with assistance from =
Paolo Lopez and choreography by Sam Steele, will be staged in the J buildin=
g.

The show will premiere on Thursday, March 29 at 7 p.m., with repeat perform=
ances on Friday, March 30 at 7 p.m, Saturday, March 31 at 7 p.m., and Thurs=
day, April 5 at 4:30 p.m. (April 5 is Open House, so you can arrive at scho=
ol early, get a terrific parking space, and watch a great show too.)  There=
 will also be a special understudy matinee on Saturday, March 31 at 2 p.m.

Just to get everyone in the mood, the cast will be selling root beer floats=
 on the green on Wednesdays; tickets ($8 regular; $5 understudy matinee) wi=
ll be sold during lunch on March 27, 28, and 29 on the Green.  You can also=
 buy tickets from any cast member or email April Paye at apaye at seq.org.  Re=
maining tickets will be available for purchase at the door.  Don't miss it!

JUNIOR PARENTS' GUIDANCE NIGHT WITH KAREN RAMIREZ =


The meeting, scheduled for Monday, April 23 from 7-8 p.m in the M-A library=
 features a jam-packed 60 minute meeting about senior year at M-A.  Karen R=
amirez, lead guidance counselor, will speak on school and district graduati=
on completion requirements.  Hear about PTA-sponsored events such as the an=
nual October Fashion Show and Grad Night celebration in June. This meeting =
gives you an overview of the year to come: don't miss it!  (Note that this =

The 3rd Annual M-A Bears Golf Classic is scheduled for Saturday, April 28 a=
t Coyote Creek Golf Club in San Jose.  All golfers at any level are welcome=
 to participate, enjoy a day of fun, and support the Menlo-Atherton Boys Go=

SWIM

Last Thursday, the swim teams battled Burlingame.  Frosh-Soph girls won 144=
-34, as Catherine Higgitt and Vanessa Lane each set a school record, and Ry=
anne Haught won 2 events. Frosh Soph Boys won 116-50.  Paul Jacob, Simon Ho=
od, and Scott Swartz were each double winners.  Varsity girls won 89-81, an=
d Sarah Winters and Kaitlyn Sitts each qualified for the CCS meet.  Varsity=
 Boys staged a furious rally to come from 16 points down to tie 85-85.  Ric=
hard Hong and Chris Kelvie each won 2 events, and, along with Jacob Morton,=
 qualified for the CCS meet.

GOLF

The varsity remains undefeated and in first place in the PAL Bay Division, =
with a 4-0 league record, and 7-0 overall record, having defeated Sequoia l=
ast Thursday at Crystal Springs Golf Course by a team score of 195 to 206, =
for a par 36 9 hole match.  Leading the pack was sophomore Nick Sako (37), =
and seniors Jamie Walsh (38), and Elliot Hume (38). =


The Bears face Menlo tomorrow and Burlingame on Thursday. =


LACROSSE

JV girls continue their winning ways with a 8-1 victory over neighboring Sa=
cred Heart.  Chloe Peters, Eileen Johnson and Alex Fanelli each shared in t=
he attack with two goals, as Kendall Eder and Allie Foraker each chipped in=
 with a goal.

The girls' varsity team improved its record to 4-1 (3-0 in PAL) with a 14-1=
0 victory at Sacred Heart Prep on Friday.  Seniors Sam Bassin (4 goals), Te=
nley Breen (3 goals / 1 assist) and Kayla Ushman (2 goals / 2 assists) turn=
ed in 4-point performances, while Katie Fanelli added 2 goals and Mackenzie=
 Rodgers, Casey Burnett and Adrian Holland each added 1 goal.  Goalie Julia=
 Robinson had 17 saves and Rei Nakamura provided strong defense in the win.

The girls are next in action at Coach Parks Field tomorrow vs Leland.

The boys' varsity lacrosse team travelled to Carmel this weekend for a tour=
nament. The boys won 3 games against Carmel HS, Green Mountain HS, and St. =
Margaret's but lost to Poway.  Congrats to Bo Dunnahoo-Kirsch for making th=
e all-tournament team.

The boys are next in action today vs Bellarmine.
