SENIOR PARENTS: TIME TO ORDER CAPS AND GOWNS
Make sure your senior picks up cap and gown information in B-21. All graduation and prom information is available online at www.mabears.org. Note also that students who cannot afford caps and gowns can apply for financial aid. See Geri Nicholas in the office.
JUNIOR/SENIOR PROM: TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE
Only 11 days until this yearâ s prom, scheduled for Friday, May 11 at the San Francisco Regency Center at 1300 Van Ness Avenue from 8 pm to midnight.

Help make another girlâ s prom night special by donating unwanted dresses to the first annual Princess Project Dress Drive. Project Princess allows underprivileged girls to get their prom dress for free. Bring dresses to B-21 anytime between May 14 and May 25.
GRAD NIGHT NOTES
Make sure that your senior has purchased Grad Night 2007 tickets for the PTA-sponsored, all-night, safe & sober party that will take place on the night of Graduation. Ticket requests are available in English and Spanish in the school office, and must be signed by parents and accompanied by a check for $100 payable to M-A Grad Night 2007. Scholarships are available; students should speak to Geri Nicholas.
ONLY ONE BIG JOB REMAINS (HURRY!)
The PTA Nominating Committee thanks you all for your tremendous response to our plea for volunteers. A lot of folks signed up to help with Fashion Show and Grad Night at the Junior Parent meeting last Monday, but you can still toss your hat into the ring by contacting either of our incoming PTA Presidents, Julie Brody (julie at brodyfamily.net) or Pam Stoner (pastoner at yahoo.com). They can put you in touch with the new chairs of these committees.
We now have just one job remaining to be filled:
***a Trivocis calendar editor***
Great volunteer opportunity for a parent who needs a job with flexible hours. If you would like to step forward (or if you want to nominate the perfect candidate) please call or email David Jones at 328-5249 or DMacLJones at aol.com.

GOLF
The Third Annual M-A Bears Golf Tournament took place on Saturday, April 28, at Coyote Creek Golf Course, raising over $7000 for our M-A Boys Varsity and JV golf teams. Joining the M-A Bears were several parents from the M-A Community, who helped our boys capture 1st Place Team Net and 2nd Place Team Gross. Additionally, Nick Sako defended his Individual Low Gross title by shooting a 6 under par 66. Tournament Director and M-A parent Norm Hall did an excellent job of spearheading this successful event for the 3rd straight year. Look for more details and a full recap at http://m-aboosters.org/sports/golf/Boys_Golf_Latest_News.html
PAL Individual Playoffs start tomorrow, followed by CCS.
LACROSSE
Varsity girls trounced Leland, continuing their undefeated season. Thanks to our seniors who continue with a solid performance.
The JV girls did it also remain undefeated in season play, racking up yet another win with a score of 9-7 over Leland. Eileen Johnson and Alex Fanelli each scored three goals, while Kendall Eder, Molly Murphy and Janika Lintz each scored one. Chloe Peters showed great ground control and on defense, Malena Spar fought hard for possession and Raissa Masket, goalie, had sixteen saves! They also took second in the JV Tournament this weekend with losing by 1 goal in the final game. The girls played five games in one day and only lost in the finals!
TENNIS
Facing #1 seeded Burlingame at their home, the boys left it all on the court, but couldn't quite come up with enough to pull the upset. The Bears took an early lead as the undefeated doubles teams of Noah Greenberg/Matt Boles-Aguilar and Carson Weiss/Zack Schwab won their matches. Although the Bears fought tooth and nail, the talented Panthers came back, taking the final 5 matches to earn an automatic CCS berth.
M-A boasts a 14-5 record in one of the toughest leagues in CCS, with wins over two League champions from other conferences. The Bears are in contention for a CCS "at large" bid as they are more than qualified! They will learn their CCS fate tonight.
M-A BOY'S TENNIS SHINE AT PAL INDIVIDUALS
Two M-A teams were selected to participate in the PAL Invitational Individual Tournament. Selected were #1 and #2 singles players, George Horowitz and Alec Haley to play as a team for the first time and the undefeated #2 doubles team of Zack Schwab/Carson Weiss. The Schwab/Weiss team advanced to the round of 16, before losing a hard fought match to the top seeded team from Menlo. The Horowitz/Haley team went all the way to the semi-finals before also losing to the #1 seeded Menlo team. However, given a second opportunity to play for 3rd place, the Bears took on yet another Menlo team in the playoff. In what was truly the most exciting match of the tournament with their teammates, parents and coaches urging them on, Horowitz/Haley prevailed in an exciting 3 set match. The win qualifies them to apply for a CCS berth in the CCS Individual Tournament.
The Bear's hopes for a berth in the team CCS Playoffs will be determined this week.
