JUNIOR PARENTS' GUIDANCE NIGHT WITH KAREN RAMIREZ =
The meeting, scheduled for tonight from 7-8 p.m in the M-A library features=
a jam-packed 60 minute meeting about senior year at M-A. Karen Ramirez, l=
ead guidance counselor, will speak on school and district graduation comple=
tion requirements. Hear about PTA-sponsored events such as the annual Octo=
ber Fashion Show and Grad Night celebration in June. This meeting gives you=
an overview of the year to come. (Note that this is not a college plannin=
g night.) Please RSVP to PTA Junior Parents' Night co-chairs Charlene Margo=
t at charlenemargot at yahoo.com or Stacia Weisenfluh at sweisenfluh at covad.net.
DON'T GO AWAY, JUNIOR PARENTS-THERE"S MORE!
June 2 is the last chance to take the SAT this school year. Next tests wil=
l be given in October, so this will be your student's last chance until fal=

her the SAT Reasoning Test or SAT Subject Tests by going to http://www.coll=
egeboard.com/student/testing/sat/reg.html =
CAREER FAIR
We will be hosting a career fair on April 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. Students are =
invited to come meet professionals from a variety of backgrounds. Fun, foo=
d, and facts about your potential future!
MAY DAY FOR SENIORS
We hope that all seniors appreciated the chance to sleep in today. Next Tu=
esday, May 1, will be another late day for seniors, but they will have to a=
rise a bit earlier because of a mandatory senior meeting at 8:45 a.m. in th=
e J-building. Again, that's May Day at 8:45 a.m: make sure your seniors do=
n't succumb to senioritis and sleep through the whole thing.
BIG BEAR RUN
It is not too late to register for the second annual Big Bear Run, schedule=
d for Sunday, May 6, at 9 a.m. =
Hop over to http://www.active.com/event_detail.cfm?event_id=3D1413981 today=
. =
THE RUN NEEDS NON-RUNNERS TOO!
Race day volunteers needed to serve as course monitors. You will be direct=
ing and cheering on the runners from approximately 8-10 a.m. on Sunday, May=
6. Contact Cindy Newton at newton_c at sbcglobal.net if you would like to b=
e part of the action without having to break a sweat. =
SENIOR PARENTS: TIME TO ORDER CAPS AND GOWNS
Make sure your senior picks up cap and gown information in B-21. All gradu=
ation and prom information is available online at www.mabears.org. Note a=
lso that students who cannot afford caps and gowns can apply for financial =
aid. See Geri Nicholas in the office.
GRAD NIGHT NOTES
The decorations committee for Grad Night 2007 needs white, clear lights on =
cords (Christmas tree lights). If you can loan yours, please send them with=
your student to the collection box in the school office.
Also, make sure that your senior has purchased Grad Night 2007 tickets for =
the PTA-sponsored, all-night, safe & sober party that will take place on th=
e night of Graduation. Ticket requests are available in English and Spanish=
in the school office, and must be signed by parents and accompanied by a c=
heck for $100 payable to M-A Grad Night 2007. Scholarships are available; s=
tudents should speak to Geri Nicholas. =
YOUR FEEDBACK WELCOME
We are now encouraging students, parents, and staff to make suggestions to =
help M-A be a better school. You can leave a written note in the suggestion=
box on the front counter in the main office or email your suggestions to f=
eedbackbox at seq.org. Positive feedback is welcome too!
People who use email to give feedback should state whether they wish to be =
anonymous or not. The principal's secretary will remove all identifying in=
formation from anonymous ideas before placing the suggestion in the feedbac=
k box. Although we understand the occasional need for anonymity, it is most=
helpful to the school to have a name attached to the suggestion.
Note that you should address specific concerns to individuals who can handl=
e them directly (if you have a question about math, go to the math departme=
nt first). =
JUNIOR/SENIOR PROM: TICKETS AVAILABLE NOW!
This year's prom is scheduled for Friday, May 11 at the San Francisco Regen=
cy Center at 1300 Van Ness Avenue from 8 pm to midnight. =
Tickets are now on sale for $50 single, $90 couple in front of B-21 at lunc=
h. Guest passes are available too. For more info, contact Jenna Carson a=
t jcarson at seq.org.
Students who want to earn the money for tickets should sign up in B-20. Eac=
h hour of work outside class hours earns students a 10 credit towards a dan=

team's performance was amazing. While M-A lost some points, they rarely l=
ost a game, dispatching Independence 7-0. At #1 & #2 singles, George Horow=
itz and Alec Haley won easily despite breaking three rackets between them d=
uring their matches.
The Bears take on the Dons of Aragon in the PAL Playoffs, Monday at 3:30 at=
M-A. With a win, M-A will play either San Mateo or Burlingame in the fina=
