ONLY ONE MORE DAY

You will be so so sorry if you miss out on the biggest, best gift wrap
and candy sale of the season. Did you know 50% of your purchases will
directly benefit drama productions and M-A Band needs? Don't wait a
moment: rush to www.innisbrook.com to view the items for sale. You can
avoid shipping fees and sales taxes (and help us meet our minimum sale
order) by giving your order directly to a band or drama student by
October 6. The student will deliver the items to you just in time for
the holidays! Questions? Email Dianne Jensen RGJDMD at aol.com

COLLEGES ARE COMING

Colleges visiting the Career Center next week include Lehigh, Fashion
Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM), Denison, Wesleyan, St.
Mary's, Mills, Seattle U., Dartmouth, U. of Puget Sound, Vanderbilt, and

and passes to attend.

CUPCAKES, COOKIES, AND MORE

If you like to bake, you can help the Fashion Show, our school's main
fundraiser, by contributing your homemade pies, cakes, cupcakes, bundt
cakes, brownies, cookies (2 dozen minimum), breads, rice krispie treats,
muffins, fudge, and any other specialties to the parent sponsored bake
sale. Homemade goodies are preferred, store-bought items are acceptable
too. Get out your cookbooks and plan to drop off your contributions on
Friday, October 20 from 3-6 p.m. or Saturday, October 21 at 9 a.m. Email
Wendy Rohn at jwhsa at aol.com - she needs at least 70 families to bring
goodies, and you need not have a senior to participate..

We also need volunteers to help wrap and price the baked items on
Friday, October 20 and the morning of October 21 and to help sell the
treats (though they'll practically sell themselves) before and after the
shows! Volunteers, please contact Jody Horowitz at
jodyhorowitz at comcast.net

you help your teen achieve better sleep habits. The program includes a

YOUTH REACH

The City of Redwood City is inviting high school juniors and seniors to
an exciting new program called Youth REACH. The program features five
interactive and motivating afternoon sessions that provide students with
a great overview of public sector career options, including
presentations by city staff about their jobs, training, skill building
tips, panel discussions with students that have worked for Redwood City,
a career and education fair, and a lot more. Redwood City wants to help
high school students plan for their future and consider a career in the
public sector. The program starts in late October and the city is
recruiting participants now. Please phone 780-5956 or visit Redwood
City's website at www.redwoodcity.org for more information.

ESL TUTORS NEEDED

The ESL classes need a few topnotch volunteers to help students during
classes. No previous tutoring experience or knowledge of foreign
languages is required. It's a great opportunity to work directly with
the students, primarily on English language skills, once a week. We
have already filled around 30 tutoring requests from the teachers this
fall, and we are still looking for tutors at the following times:

ESL 1 with Marei Kane: Thursdays, noon-1:40

ESL 2 with JJ Lee Gilbert: Monday, Tuesday, Friday periods 2, 3, and 5,
Wednesday period 2,
Thursday periods 3 and 5

Connections with Angelica Rodriguez: Wednesdays, 10-11.

Contact Sally Fundakowski at salfun at comcast.net or 325-7615 to sign up
or to ask any questions.

issues.

gatherings of interested parents), please contact FACTS co-chairs: Lisa
Bohannon at lfredbohan at aol.com or Lily Hurlimann at lhurl at aol.com
