[Ma-pta-enotes] We need your Cans of Food at M-A

Most of us living here in the midst of plenty have never had to go hungry or
do without anything we really needed.  That's why it's shocking to realize
that over 500 M-A families are living in relative poverty.  
 
Every year, the leadership students at M-A hold a can drive to collect
enough food to help sustain our needy families over the holiday season. This
year, our goal is to collect 110,000 cans of food for them.  And with one
week to go, we remain far short of that goal.  "My biggest fear," says
Student Activities Director Jenna Carson, "is that next week, on Friday
afternoon, I have a family come to pick up their food box and I have to say,
'I'm so sorry but we ran out.'"
 
That is why we are making a special plea to you, our M-A families, to help
members of our community who need your support, especially during this
holiday season.  Please bring cans to the leadership room, B-21, by next
Wednesday, December 6.   We could especially use your donations of:
 
*       sugar
*        cooking/vegetable oil
*        canned vegetables
*        pasta
*        peanut butter
 
but all canned goods and cash donations are welcome.  
 
With your help, this holiday season will be a truly joyous one for all,
givers as well as recipients.
