CAREER CENTER

The incredible Alice Kleeman passes along info about the following programs=
that might be of interest. These are not sponsored by M-A, and Alice does=
not endorse them-just wants you to be aware of them.

--Learn more about Oxbridge Academic Programs (see www.oxbridgeprograms.com=
) on Monday, December 11 from 7-9 p.m. at the Palace Hotel Sunset Court, 2 =
New Montgomery Street, San Francisco. The Oxbridge Programs offer summer ex=
periences in Oxford, Cambridge, and Paris (that several M-A students have e=
njoyed in the past), and a new program in Barcelona. There are separate pr=
ograms for students depending on their grade level (from 8th to 12th). For=
more information and to RSVP, contact Oxbridge at 1-800-828-8349 or info at o=
xbridgeprograms.com.

--The Woolman Semester is a program that poses the question, "Are peace, ju=
stice, and environmental sustainability really possible?" Juniors, senior=
s, and post-grads can explore that question and more for a semester in the =
Sierra Foothills, taking classes in peace, justice, and environmental susta=
inability while earning high school credit in UC-approved courses. Visit t=
he Woolman Semester web site (www.woolman.org) or contact Kathy Runyan at (=
530) 273-3183 or Kathyr at woolman.org for more information. Financial aid an=
d full scholarships are available for qualified students.

Within the next couple of months, Alice will update her database of interes=
ting summer programs for high school students. Meanwhile, your students ar=
e welcome to come to the Career Center to peruse the summer-program files.
