PARENTS OF SENIORS

Yeah, I know, the kids are practically grown up, but just in case you
want to whisper in their ears as they head out to school on these cold
November mornings, here's what you might want to say...

RECOMMENDATIONS

Last chance for seniors to request a college recommendation from their
guidance advisors is this Thursday, November 9. Students should see
their advisors immediately if they need a letter.

YEARBOOK DEDICATIONS

Seniors' personal dedication pages are due by November 17. Seniors who
need a form should see Ms Woolf during sixth period or after school.

PANORAMIC PHOTOS

If your senior would like a panoramic photo, please make sure a check,
payable to Prestige Photos, finds its way to Ms Woolf's box by November
17. Thank you to all who have already ordered yours!

DRUGS AND YOUR CHILD

Worried about your alcohol or drugs and your child? Join other concerned
parents at the FACTS Forum scheduled for tomorrow, November 7 at 7:30
p.m. in the library. This is a great opportunity to hear about new
research and to share thoughts and questions with other parents.

Save the date: Ralph Castro, Alcohol and Drug Educator at Vaden Student
Health Center at Stanford University, will be our guest at the December
5 FACTS Forum at 7:30 p.m. in the library. As many parents of college
students know, college freshmen must complete an on-line alcohol
awareness test as a condition of admission. Ralph Castro will discuss
what Stanford University is seeing in terms of alcohol use on campus and
answer questions about addressing these issues with our M-A students.

If you have any questions, please contact FACTS co-chairs, Lisa
Bohannon, lfredbohan at aol.com, and Lily Hurlimann, Lhurl at aol.com.

LOST AND FOUND SALE

There will be a lost and found yard sale on Tuesday, November 7 and
Wednesday, November 8 at lunch in room B-21 for all unclaimed items.

time changes). The show, entitled "The High School Challenge"
reinforces the work of Challenge Day and the Be the Change Movement.

THE TEENAGE BRAIN AND HOW TO LIVE WITH ONE

Has your beloved child turned into an alien creature who can't stand
you? Join other parents on Tuesday, November 14 from 7:30-9:00pm in the
Carlmont Student Union. Parent educator Nancy Rahimi, herself the
mother of two Carlmont students, will explore what has become of that
child you knew so well and how to effectively interact with your teens
during this transitional stage we call adolescence. This event,
sponsored by the Carlmont PTSA, could mark the beginning of new and
rewarding family dynamics.
