SENIOR FAREWELL
Tonight is Senior Farewell, open to seniors and families. The senior picnic=
is tomorrow, June 6. Tomorrow is also the last day to buy grad nite ticket=

pick up forms. =
FAQ FOR SENIOR PARENTS
Q: My senior did not pass the HSEE. Do you have to pass the HSEE to go to =
grad nite?
A. Your senior should still go to grad nite. Passing the HSEE is not a req=
uirement. =
Q. My senior did not pass a class and doesn't have enough credits to gradua=
te. Should we cross grad nite off the calendar?
A. Your senior should still go to grad nite. Passing all classes is not a=
prerequisite to attendance.
Q Can all seniors go to grad nite?
A. Students must be cleared by the office. This means they need to turn i=
n their parking passes, uniforms, play any fines, and take care of any othe=
r blemishes on their record and they will be welcome to attend provided the=

SENIOR EVENTS THIS WEEK
This Wednesday, June7, the PTA will be providing the senior class with a fr=
ee no-ticket-required breakfast. Graduation rehearsal will follow. Bring =
yearbooks, as this is the last chance to have them signed. =

Graduation begins Thursday, June 8 on the football field at 4 pm. No ticket=
s are required and no parking spots or seats are reserved. First come, fir=
st parked, first seated. =
Note that the check-in for grad night this Thursday, June 8, is scheduled f=
or 8:30-9 p.m. at the new gym. Please try to help your students arrive on =
time so that buses can be loaded at 9:15. =
LET'S GET PHYSICAL
Get a workout while helping our library when you volunteer to sort student =
textbooks this week. Two hour slots (8 a.m.-10 am, 10 am-noon, noon-2 p.m.=
) are available today through Thursday, June 8. Contact Marvis Stoeker at =
322-5161 or mstoeker at seq.org to help. Many hands make light work and the li=
brary really needs your help!
SUMMER HOMEWORK
Are your students taking an AP or AS class next fall? If that class has a =
summer assignment, make sure they pick up their books starting Monday, June=
12 through Friday, June 16, any time from 8 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. The libr=
ary will be closed after that until August 1. =

After five grueling selection trials, Elizabeth Osborn has been selected as=
one of the three women to represent the United States at the World Equestr=
ian Games in the sport of equestrian vaulting in Aachen, Germany this summe=
r. Congratulations Elizabeth!

BelMateo Bowl, Palo Alto Bowl, and Serra Bowl are presenting a "Say No to D=
rugs and Yes to Bowling" program. All students will receive season passes =
for free bowling, allowing them to bowl between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. beginning=
June 3 through September 3. One free game each day plus shoe rental inclu=

MARILYN WONG RETIRING
Laurel's first grade teacher Marilyn Wong is retiring at the end of this ye=
ar after 32 years of teaching. We hope you can join us for an open house on=
Saturday, June 10 from 3-5 p.m. in the Laurel second grade arbor to celebr=
ate fond memories of a teacher that will always be "first" with us! If you =

SHADOW A VET
The Peninsula Humane Society and the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty =
to Animals (SPCA) are offering a Vet Shadow Program that will allow student=
s to learn about the life of an animal shelter veterinarian. Two sessions =
are being offered: Thursday, June 22 or Tuesday, June 27 from 10:00 a.m. to=
12 noon at the county shelter, 12 Airport Boulevard in San Mateo.
Space is very limited, and students must sign up in advance by calling Amy =
in the Education Department at (650) 340-7022 x 369. There is no charge, bu=
t a $15 donation is suggested
CHANGE YOUR LIFE
The Colleges That Change Lives tour will pass through the Bay Area on Monda=
y, August 7, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the South San Francisco Conference Cent=
er and Tuesday, August 8, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Walnut Creek Marriott.=
