*Hello Parents,
When possible we would like to reduce the number of emails we send to you,
so we will try to combine annoncements into a weekly email. There are
several important announcements for this week:
1. Dine out Fundraiser
2. No PSG 2008 meeting this month
3. Parent Education Event - Talking to Teens about Sex
4. Public Library College Information Talk
Please read on for details:
*1. Dine out Fundraiser
Join the Class of 2008 dine-out fundraiser this Tuesday March 6
at Fresh Choice in Redwood City. The restaurant will give 15% of the
meal purchases to the junior class. Each meal purchase must
be accompanied with the attached flyer. This flyer is also available
on the school website
www.carlmont.seq.org
Half of the proceeds earned on Tuesday at Fresh Choice
will go to the junior class for prom, senior picnic, and such. The other
half will go to PSG 2008 for Grad Night.
Please support this event with your family and bring friends.
Remember you need a flyer for Class of 2008 to get the credit!!
2. There will be no PSG 2008 Meeting this month. The next meeting will be
Tuesday, May 8th
when we will discuss Grad night plans.

*3. *PTSA Parent Education Presentation:*
"Talking To Your Teen About Sex"
Tuesday, March 6, 2007
7:30-8:30 pm
Carlmont Staff Lounge
Our March PTSA meeting will be held at 8:30 pm following the lecture.*
*Please join us for an informative presentation by the Teen Pregnancy
Prevention Coalition of San Mateo County. Learn effective ways to
communicate with your teens about sex. Hear recent statistics on teen
sexual habits, pregnancy rates, the incidence of STD's in San Mateo County,
and more.
Tamar Besson, the Nurse Practitioner from the Sequoia Teen Wellness Center,
will also be there to answer parents' questions about the new School
Outreach Clinic which opened on February 28th at Carlmont. This new
program provides students confidential access to birth control and other
reproductive health services, two days a month in the Health Office. Come
hear how the clinic talks to the students about choices, relationships, and
their health.
The Teen Pregnancy Prevention Coalition provides sex education programming
to Carlmont and all other Sequoia Unified High Schools through their Teen
Talk Program in freshman biology classes. For more information: *

4. Public Library College Information Talk
"How to Get Into and Pay for College"
A free workshop for parents and students at the San Carlos Library,
Wednesday, March 7th at 7pm.
