[Carlmont-PSG2008] College Info from Ms. Dominguez: Important Speaker Wed. Night

Junior Parents,

You may have heard, but just in case you didn't, Connie Dominguez announced
the following college event:


Students and parents are encouraged to come to hear a presentation on Wed.
11/15 at 7 pm in the Student Union by Dr. Springer, UC Davis Vice
Chancellor and author of "Admission Matters: What Parents and Students
Need to Know About College."

Dr. Springer has twenty years experience in working in the field of
psychology and college admissions.  We are very fortunate she schedule
Carlmont into her tour. I have gotten several calls from parents at
other schools in the Penninsula inquiring if they can come and my answer
has been "NO"  -- this presentation is for Staff, Parents, and Students
at Carlmont. Please encourage your students/parents to attend. (FYI: Our
feeder schools -- i.e. Ralston, Central, etc. have also been invited).

Dr Springer will cover how selective colleges make their decisions on
admitting students and tips on how students can assess their chances of
getting in. Also, her book will be sold at this event for $15. (It's a
good one and easy to read and has received great reviews from many in
the college admission field.)
