PARENTS:

The May issue of the Bagpiper is now posted on the Carlmont website. Go to
http://carlmont.seq.org, scroll down until you see ³Latest Flyers and
Downloads² in the lefthand column, and click on ³Bagpiper, May 08.² This
will download the Adobe file onto your computer, and you can read it there
or print it out. Or, if you want a shortcut, go to
http://carlmont.seq.org/content/blogsection/7/30/ and then click on
³Bagpiper, May 2008.² Note that this is the last issue of the school year,
so it includes important dates and information for June and summer
activities, as well.

CLUBS AND PROGRAMS

Watch out Carlmont, there’s a new dance team! Tryouts for the dance team HYPE! What kind of dance? Hip hop! Tryouts are May 14th and the 15th from 3:30 to 5:00 in the dance studio! Come show off your skills and bring the hype! * Sagi

CSF Members:  You can still earn service hours for this year!  Volunteers are need for the Multicultural Fair at Ralston Middle School on May 16 for set up or May 17 from 12 - 4pm.  Please come by room D-12 or E-15 at lunch to sign up - the deadline for sign-ups is May 7th. - Callan

Close your eyes and imagine smelling and EATING a big mound of garlic fries.  Now open your eyes - POOF - you are at SBC Park on Friday, May 9th to watch the Giants BEAT the Phillies!  Purchase tickets for $22 from Ms. DePaoli or Ms. McKee. - McKee

Listen up Students!  The End of the Year Library Schedule is as follows:
May 5  - The last day to check out library books.
May 16 - All library books are due!
May 23 - Library closes for Textbook Collection.  Students will be welcome to study as long as space is available. - Laine

Students: Have you dropped a class this past school year?  If so, return those textbooks ASAP to the Textbook Room.  You will return all other textbooks to your teachers at the end of the year.  If you are unsure of what textbooks you have checked out, come into the Textbook Room and we will provide you with a printout of your account.  Laine

CLASS INFO

Baccalaureate.  What is it?  It's a celebration of Seniors....those who can sing and dance and play music.  Also, those who have scholarships and other academic awards.  If you have a special talent that you'd like to show off on the night of Baccalaureate, see Ms. Sagi or Mr. Kelly ASAP.  The auditions for Baccalaureate are next Monday, May 5 at 5:00 in the Choir room.  Don't miss the auditions for Baccalaureate. - Kelly

Senior Service Seals.  If you want a Gold, Silver, or Bronze seal on your diploma, you need to turn in your Service Seal form to Mr. Kelly by next Friday, May 9.  If you have lost the form from your Social Studies class, you can download one from the Carlmont Website. - Kelly

Senior Picnic.  Are you going to the Senior Picnic?  Water slides...a lake....grass area...beach....  If you want to go, you need to turn in your permission slip (from Social Studies class or online) with $15.00 to Mr. Kelly by May 14. - Kelly

Senior Takeover Day.  If you want to take over a teacher or staff member's job for a day, May 21, talk to that person.  If they agree, tell them to email Mr. Kelly. * Kelly

Seniors - did you purchase your Grad Night ticket yet!! Tickets are $60 - but prices will go up on May 1 to $65. Get your ticket now!! See Ms Eggli-Smith in the office for order forms or download it from the Carlmont website. The list of seniors that have already purchased their ticket is available on the ASB window. * Kelly

Seniors, if you ordered a panoramic picture, come to the ASB room at lunch to pick them up. - Kelly

COLLEGE AND CAREER

Seniors: Are you in need of some money for college to attend a four-year, two-year, or vocational school? If so, then fill out the Carlmont Scholarship Form located in the College Center. The deadline to turn the form into Mrs. Dominguez has been extended to Monday, May 5th, during lunch. - Dominguez
