Are you concerned about the current and future impact of the new
charter
high schools on Carlmont, Menlo-Atherton, Sequoia, and Woodside?

Dr. Patrick Gemma, Sequoia District Superintendant, has called an
informational meeting on October 3, at 5:30, in the Multi Purpose Room
at
Sequoia High School.  The purpose of the meeting is to learn about
SUHSD
obligations to charter high schools, and to have an opportunity to ask
your
questions.  Please attend.

COLLEGE AND CAREER

Attention Juniors and Sophomores: This is your last week to get signed
up for the PSAT held at Carlmont on Oct. 21st.  Bring $23 cash or check
(payable to Carlmont HS) to the Treasurer's Office (located inside the
Attendance Office) during lunch or after 6th period. - Dominguez

Seniors:  The college application season has begun. On Wednesday,
during 7th period, the College Center will be hosting workshop for
Seniors on how to apply to CSU campuses on-line. - Dominguez

SPORTS

There will be a mandatory Varsity Boys Soccer meeting TUESDAY Oct. 3rd
in T-4 during lunch. We will be discussing important information for the
upcoming Soccer season. - Selli

Interested in playing softball this year?  If you answered yes to this
question then your should come to an important meeting in E-15 at lunch
on Tuesday.  Don't be late.  Liggett

Girls! Girls! Girls! Do you Wanna play Powderpuff football, but you
missed the meeting? There is still time to sign up! Sign-ups are now
posted outside the ASB room window. Sign ups are TODAY. Seniors who are
involved, there will be a short meeting TODAY in the ASB room. Please

CLUBS AND PROGRAMS

There is a Screamin' Scots meeting this Thursday, Oct 5th in the ASB
room. Bring cheers and ideas for Homecoming. - Kelly

The Break dance club will have its first meeting on Tuesday, Oct 3rd in
room B-2 at lunch. Come to watch, learn or to dance!

Want to spend your Spring Break with Ms. Cho in Peru?  Come to an
informational meeting about this immersion opportunity on Thursday, Oct
5th at lunch in room T-3.  Any level of Spanish is welcome!  We hope to

What are you doing at the start of summer?  Want to be part of
Carlmont's Costa Rica trip?  Have an interest to see and work with
hatchlings of leatherbacks?  Want to know more about birds, reptiles,
and butterflies of the Costa Rican rainforest?  Come to an informational
meeting at lunch this Tuesday in room C3 and learn about this school
year's exciting 11-day Costa Rica adventure.  See Ms. Doss if you have

Seniors!  Do you still need the technology requirement to graduate? 
Are you doing a portfolio to complete this requirement?  If so, please
note that all portfolios must be signed off by December 8th.  Visit

Seniors!!!!  Graduation.  Yes, you heard right....Graduation!!!  You'll
need to order your Cap and Gown on October 3 and 4.  That's a Tuesday
and Wednesday NEXT week.  Your 4th period teacher will be passing out
the order forms.  Order your Cap and Gown.  The prices will go up, so
