Important Information about Summer School:

The purpose of summer school is to help you succeed and graduate on time. We need your cooperation to ensure that your summer school experience is productive.

If you have failed any classes in high school, you must attend summer school to make up the credits. If you don’t attend summer school this summer, you might not be able to make up the classes during the regular school year and you might not be able to graduate on time.

Enrollment Priorities:
  • Current Sequoia Union High School District students
  • Non-grads, followed by seniors, then juniors, etc.
  • Students who failed a class required for graduation

Course Restrictions:

  • Only non-graduates can enroll in Economics, Government or English IV
  • 1st Session classes are for 1st Semester and 2nd Session classes are for 2nd semester. Please note that an exception to this restriction is provided for English (In Example: if a student failed 2nd Semester English, it may be taken during the first session of Summer School).
  • You can not accelerate in English and Social Studies (a student may not take next year's classes during the summer in these subjects).

Attendance Regulations:

  • If you do not attend the first day of summer school and do not call ahead to notify the school you are enrolled in to attend Summer School, you will lose your placement.
  • If you miss more than 8 hours for a semester class of summer school or 4 hours for a quarter class you will be dropped from summer school.
  • Tardies count towards absence hours.
