Get Ahead with the Academies Program Print E-mail

The Academy Program is a partnership between public education and the private sector to provide technical and academic training to high school students. The students gain hands-on experience with computers in a unique school-within-a-school setting and have the opportunity to work with mentors from the high-tech industry. Academies have been established at Carlmont, Menlo-Atherton, Sequoia and Woodside High Schools.

About Distance Learning Print E-mail

The Sequoia Union High School District encourages its students to take advantage of distance learning classes in order to:

  • graduate early
  • take classes not offered in the schools
  • make up classes you have failed
  • improve grades in classes for which you received low grades (Note: both grades remain on your transcript)
  • improve your skills
  • continue your education when you are unable to attend school.

Middle College is an alternative education collaborative between Cañada College and the Sequoia Union High School District and is located on Cañada's campus.  Middle College serves high school juniors and seniors who are looking for a more challenging environment and are ready for college level work.

Teenage Parent Program (TAPP) Print E-mail

The Teenage Parent Program serves pregnant and parenting teens Grades 9-12 in the district. It is a self-contained, self-paced, individualized instructional and counseling program with health services and a child development center for infants and toddlers. TAPP is housed at Redwood High School located at 1968 Old County Road in Redwood City.
